Seus hits incluíam How Will I Know, Saving All My Love for You e I Will Always Love You.

Only one problem: Pseudacteon finds fear . . . erotic. The flies do their fly-nasty, the females get pregnant, and the couple celebrates by planting the newest member of their family straight into a nearby ant's thorax. Once inside, the larva slowly eats its way from the thorax to the head, then, as a dessert course, Pseudacteon eats the ant's goddamn brain. The brainless ant then stumbles about, continuing to live for a time, but with no will of its own. Yes, this is a zombie-making parasite with a literal hunger for brains. You go ahead and tell Pseudacteon it's a cliche -- we'll be waiting behind the couch to see how that works out for you. Eventually, the larva grows weary of mocking the corpses of its victims and devours the membrane that keeps the ant's head attached to its body, decapitating the poor creature. The seconds acted as negotiators, relaying messages such as the time and place of the battle, as well as what weapons were to be used. Well, Steve Gillis, Mark Twain's second, turned out to provide a much, much more valuable service than that. The story goes that, knowing that his reputation as a hopelessly inept shot preceded him and in quite justified fear for his life, Twain arrived early at the dueling grounds so Gillis could coach him as he practiced shooting a fence rail representing his lanky opponent. Twain went about missing every single shot. See, your presence is never required. You stay your grumpy asses at home. Sure, people might want you around, but the party will surely roll on without you, and that's definitely the preferred outcome if the only party favors you plan to bring are the deep-seated internal conflicts you have with your partner. If the two of you hope to retain your membership in a circle of friends that gather regularly to do fun things, plan on checking your bullshit differences at the door whenever you meet up. Anything less is the very height of discourtesy. Furthermore, whatever you think you bring to the party isn't even sort of worth the aggravation that having a couple in the throes of a passionate dispute around brings to everyone involved. Everyone Will Blame YouNatasaMandic-iStock-Getty ImagesIf you see a picture of a naked person online, the default assumption is that they put it there themselves, because we want to believe that the world is a beautiful place full of consensual genitalia. Of course, it's a bummer if your boss finds those pictures, because most workplaces frown on that sort of thing. When Jacobs first heard from human resources at her school, they made the default assumption and came after her: "They were pursuing it so much and asking so many questions insinuating that I was doing this myself . . . I legally changed my name. " To clarify, the problem isn't that a school was concerned that their employee was being sexually inappropriate with their students -- they of course need to watch out for that shit . The problem is that, after it became apparent that this was an attack on one of their teachers, the school's very first reaction was to put as much distance between them as possible. It's virtually impossible to convince people that it's not somehow your fault. Pete Best, am I right, kids?!?!?Whereas Best was jettisoned from the Beatles by force right before the band got huge, Dunkleman left by choice at the exact same moment in the trajectory of American Idol history. It's generally accepted that he left because he thought the show was going nowhere and that it was the right move for his career, a decision that, in hindsight, seems completely insane. Of course, there are two sides to every story, and the Dunkleman side of this one makes it clear that, no matter the financial ramifications, leaving was at the very least the right decision from a mental health standpoint. Until we recorded the podcast, I'd never actually asked about the American Idol stuff. I expected to hear tales of woe about leaving a gig that could have set him up for life when the situation, in retrospect, really wasn't that bad. What I got instead was a series of harrowing stories about a year spent working for what must be one of the worst employers on television and with the worst co-worker imaginable.
